Hebrew word KARAV – Drawing Near, קרבScriptures (italics included for emphasis):Deuteronomy 4:7 – “For who is a great nation whose God is coming near to them as Jehovah your God is, in all our prayers to Him.”James 4:8 – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”Coming near in Deuteronomy 4:7 has the root word karav, which “is used to express the inward part, the heart, being in the midst.”
Another way to think of this is if He comes near to hug us.The Greek word for draw near in James 4:8 is eggizo, which means to “draw near with the intention of joining yourself.” This meaning is the same between Greek and Hebrew.
