Acercarse en Deuteronomio 4:7 tiene la raíz de la palabra karav, que “se usa para expresar la parte interna, el corazón, estando en medio”.
Otra forma de pensar en esto es si Él se acerca para abrazarnos. La palabra griega para acercarse en Santiago 4:8 es eggizo, que significa “acercarse con la intención de unirse a uno mismo”. Este significado es el mismo entre el griego y el hebreo.
