Rev. Dr. Rand Burden has ministered as a pastor, preacher, teacher, worship leader, church planter, and clinician for over forty-five years. Currently, he serves as the Director of Ministry (Southwest Region) for Aldersgate Renewal Ministries. Dr. Burden holds a DMin from Portland Seminary at George Fox University, an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a PharmD. He and his wife have two grown children and three grandchildren, and they live in Durango, CO, with their dog, Dude.

David Desmond Player is the baby of six children, born in Primrose, South Africa on January 4, 1960. He attended Durban High School in South Africa where he graduated from the 12^th Grade in 1978. Conscripted into the South African in 1979, he served honorably in Mechanized Infantry in the South African Defense Force for two years. Thereafter, he was placed on Active Reserve status, serving for another ten years, seeing a total of nine months of active duty in Namibia and Angola. After finishing his military service in 1981, David worked in sales and management for the next ten years, six of which were for the National Cash Register Corporation (NCR). He also started preparing for ministry by studying at night for a BA in Religion during these years in secular employment.

David was born again in 1977 and quickly dedicated himself to knowing, loving and serving God. He has been fully engaged in prayer, worship, ministry, evangelism and missions for the past forty-six years. David married the love of his life, Cindy Marion, on September 8, 1984.

Their first son, Reece, was born in South Africa on February 8, 1989, and Ethan Seth was born in the USA on May 18, 2004. (Yes, you are right, that’s a fifteen-year difference!) Reece is a Global Methodist Lay Pastor. He currently serves at the First Methodist Church in Pawhuska, OK. Ethan graduated from Guymon High School in 2021 and he loves golf, hunting, swimming, and playing video games. He is a certified EMT and serves as a Deputy Sheriff for Texas County.

Cindy and David answered God’s calling to enter the ordained ministry in 1990. They sold their home and all their possessions, said sad farewell to their family, friends and homeland; and moved to the USA in January 1991 to finish his education and ministerial formation.

David finished his BA in Religion and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1993. In 1996 he earned a Master of Divinity, Magna Cum Laude, from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David served as a Student Pastor at Pentecostal Holiness Church in Newcastle, OK from March 1, 1992, to May 31, 1995; as Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Hominy, OK from June 1, 1995, to December 31, 1998; at First United Methodist Church in Mannford, OK from January 1, 1999 –May 31, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Altus from June 1, 2005, to December 31, 2017. From January 1, 2018, to the present, he has served as the Senior Pastor of Victory Memorial Methodist Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. He became an ordained Global Methodist Church Elder in October 2022.

Pastor Player is deeply devoted to Christ, to Prayer, to Youth Ministry, to Church Renewal, to World Evangelism, to Missions, and especially to his family and friends. He is active in community service and has dedicated his life to working with Christians of all denominations. He is also active in faith and service clubs like Rotary, Ministerial Alliances, Free Health Clinics, Historical Societies, Fire Departments, Military Bases, Government Leaders, Recovery Ministries, and the Hospice. He is committed to a variety of ecumenical ministries like the Walk to Emmaus, Kairos Prison Ministry, Scouting, Domestic Violence Intervention, Recovery from Addictions, Revival Preaching, Camping, and Ministry among Children and Youth. He has served as the Co-Chair for Prayer Ministry for the Heartland GMC Conference for the past three years.

David loves the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. In August 2002, the Players proudly became US citizens after living in the USA for twelve years. They are active politically and they are very patriotic. They are especially fond of the people and way of life in rural Oklahoma. The Panhandle Community and lifestyle have quickly become one of their most beloved.

Mark was born into the church's life in 1968.He was born and raised in Elkton, Maryland. He attended and served Leed’s United Methodist church for 32 years. He grew in faith through great teaching, sacraments, service, and witness. There he got the call to be a worship leader.

In 1998 he was searching for more. He felt that the ministry was dry and just going through the motions. He attended an Aldersgate Conference in Dallas, TX. There he experienced the fullness of the Holy Spirit moving in a way described in the New Testament during Pentecost. He saw and felt the love of the Father like he had never experienced before. It reminded him of the scriptures where Paul asked believers: “have you received the Holy Spirit?” His answer was like theirs; he didn’t know there was a Holy Spirit. That experience took him on a journey serving the ministry of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM). Through the years, he has had the opportunity to serve in many aspects of the ministry, including A/V, Youth, Onsite coordinator for the conference, Local Church renewal events, and worship leading.

In 2000 he, his wife Betty, and son Christopher moved to Tennessee to be closer to the ARM headquarters and serve as a music director at a local UMC church. In 2001 the Lord opened the opportunity to serve as a worship leader and lay local pastor at another local Methodist church in the area.  

In October 2015, the Lord led the ministry to elect Mark as the Chief Executive Officer of ARM. Following the lead of the Lord, he accepted that position. He continues to serve in leading the Aldersgate Renewal Ministries to equip and encourage God’s people to live empowered by the Holy Spirit.
