Before Your Throne Combo

“Before Your Throne” is a worship experience of 11 new songs recorded live.  Reflecting on what he is hoping that God will do with “Before Your Throne,” composer Jonathan Dow commented, “Many of the songs were birthed out of the reality that the Scriptures often equip us with the vocabulary we lack when trying to express our hearts to God in the midst of difficulty, pain and challenge.  I pray that these songs would give voice to the sometimes inexpressible heartcry of those who are journeying through life’s inexplicable circumstances.” Songs are pulled from both the Old and New Testament: acknowledging God’s sovereignty along with Hagar in Genesis 16 through “You Are the One,”  echoing young Samuel’s response to God in I Samuel 3 through “No Other Voice,” testifying of God’s redemption in Psalm 40 through “I Waited Patiently,” surrendering as Peter did in Luke 5 through “I Will Go,” and praying to live a life of gratitude reflected in obedience in Romans 2, 13 and I Timothy 6 through “I Owe You My Life.”   The “Voices of Praise” from Connell Memorial UMC and the Aldersgate Renewal Center Praise Team joined together to form the praise team. The CD will complement the printed project that includes lead sheets, basic piano accompaniment and worship team devotionals.  Grounded in the Scriptures, each devotional closes with questions that explore the application of the song in the life of an individual and in the life of the church.
