The event begins Friday Afternoon, October 10th at 2:00 pm with worship and ends with Holy Communion Sunday, October12 at noon.

Many Healings at Power UP ‘07

“I came, I was empowered, I was encouraged and now it’s my turn to go.”  That was one of the many testimonies from participants of the Power UP ’07 conference as almost 40 people attended equipping to serve as leadership for the LTUTP, LISS and the WIST.

While packed with effective instruction, the strength of Power UP really lies in the opportunity for the participants to put what they learn into practice.  Each of the team members had to prepare and present one of the teachings to the rest of their group.  The group then had opportunity to reflect on how God spoke through the person who gave the talk.  This intensive and practical instruction prepared a new class of recruits to be agents of renewal by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Worship Celebrations included vivid Scriptural messages on team ministry, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and on serving others in the character of Christ.  Rev. Dr. Frank Billman challenged the participants to recognize that every ministry endeavor takes all hands on the net to make the largest impact.  Using an unforgettable object lesson, Rev. Gary Moore gave a true picture of what it means to be baptized by the Holy Spirit by immersing a white hand kerchief into a dye.  At the closing Holy Communion service, Jonathan Dow reflected on Ezekiel’s call to ministry inviting participants to the Table to receive grace to minister with a forehead as flint and with a heart tender to receive the full instruction of God’s Word.

While it was billed as an equipping event, participants testified that Power Up ’07 was a healing experience.  Testimonies on Sunday morning revealed that God had been at work throughout the event healing people physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Pastors wounded and weary in ministry testified of a fresh touch from God healing points of hurt in the deep places of their heart and restoring a fresh love for God’s people.

Reflecting on the Power UP conferences, one participant exclaimed, “This is my first one, and I hope it won’t be my last one!”  Mark you calendars now for Power UP ’08, scheduled to take place October 10-12, 2008.
